Health Is Movement

It’s true. A simple daily walk can improve your physical and emotional health. Let’s go for a stroll.

It’s also true that the Saranac Lake Health Association owns a 16-acre parcel in Saranac Lake known as The Pines, filled with trails for walking and snowshoeing. A quiet woods for reflection and meditation, this community-connected recreational network is maintained by SLVH and is free for anyone to utilize.

Located near Mount Baker on the south side of Moody Pond, the trails connect the neighborhood to the Adirondack Rail Trail and downtown Saranac Lake. Originally owned by the Moody family, the property was gifted to the Saranac Lake Society for the Control of Tuberculosis, Inc., now the SLVH, in 1927.
